What's the Defragmentation?

The defragmentation is a process to put file fragments together so that requests of them will be done with optimum speed.

There are two types of the Defragmentation:

  • the Disk Defragmentation

Here all files on the disk will be defragged. The disks should regularly be defragged.
Fragments: the file pieces which slow the writing and reading (the acess), are called fragments. Those will be put together in the defragmentation.

  • the Registry Defragmentation

Here every Registrykey etc. will be defragged. A Registry Defragmenter is not urgently needed.
